The League are looking for someone to fill the voluntary positions of League Chair and League Welfare Officer from June 2025. 
CHAIR
Key Responsibilities:

·       Figurehead of league.

·       Represent league at County FA.

·       Chair committee meetings and AGM ensuring smooth progression of meetings and decision making.

·       Liaise with the general secretary to set meeting agendas and confirm minutes.

·       Recruitment of new committee members and ensuring teamwork amongst key officials.

·       Ensure League committee fulfil the duties required in their role and attend relevant meetings.

·       Being actively involved in creating and following a League development plan.

·       Act as point of contact for escalated enquiries from committee members and member clubs.

Key Skills:

·       Leadership.

·       Understanding / knowledge of FA rules and regulations.

·       Ability to be impartial in decision making.

·       Communication with league officers, member clubs and County FA

WELFARE OFFICER

Key Responsibilities:

·       Ensure that the League operates a safe, child friendly environment and promotes good practice in their activities.

·       Ensure club welfare officers are suitably qualified.

·       Ensuring good practice amongst clubs and club welfare officers.

·       Promote The FA Respect programme and best practice processes.

·       Liaise with club welfare officers and county FA designated safeguarding officer.

·       Attend monthly committee meetings.

Key Skills

• Previous experience of dealing or working with children.

• Always puts children’s welfare first.

• Knowledge of welfare issues and best practice.

• Completion of The FA DBS.

• Understanding of the need for confidentiality when dealing with issues.

• Completion of The FAs safeguarding children and welfare officer course.

If you would like to be considered for election, for either of these roles, we will be accepting nominations by email at secretary@ldmfl.org, signed by the secretaries of two Clubs, no later than 31st May 2025. Names of the candidates for election shall be circulated with the notice of the AGM. In the event of there being no nomination in accordance with the foregoing for any office, nominations may be received at the AGM.
